Jak Paris
Electric Revolution
(NEV Records)
Every so often someone releases an album that you can put in your car stereo and easily listen to over and over again from one day to the next. Electric Revolution by Jak Paris is one of those albums. Beautifully produced and mastered, the strong musicality and songwriting shine from track to track.
Electric Revolution opens with "Overrated," an upbeat tune that would be perfect for blasting at any summer party. Each tune is driven by some of the best guitar riffs and fills, especially such powerful songs as "Happy Now?" and "Alone," but one of the best parts of this album is the versatility. Interspersed throughout this 10-track powerhouse are plenty of surprises, for example, the well-crafted ballads "Seasons Change" and "The Un-Finished Song" and techno-rock-based "Losing Faith."
It is safe to say that Jak Paris knows his stuff and shows it in the originality of every track. Electric Revolution is full of great vocals, thoughtful lyrics, tasty guitar playing and everything else that makes for a strong rock album. The only thing I wish was that some of the songs were longer. I wanted to hear more!
