It's been a while since I updated this information, so here's the skinny. It's 2008 and a lot of things have been going on. I am presently performing/writing/recording/mixing with TheGrumpy and Hurchu .
Bios
Hurchu began in 2003 as "The Hurchu Alliance," a coalition of incisive word-smiths that took the city by storm with their "Not-So-Private Private Parties" at IMP Glassworks, a local glass shop with a love for hip-hop. Hurchu's raw and intense form made the band a formidable force in local hip-hop that would lead to a west coast tour in 2005 with another up and coming hip-hop act. Today, Hurchu boasts volumes of recorded material covering topics from the serious to the silly. Coining the phrase "Hurchu Style," the group retains a style all their own. HURCHU is The Emacult 1, Erratic, Dr. Maistro, Jason Shoelace, M.O.D.
TheGrumpy began in late 1998 between long time friends and schoolmates. The mission was to begin a new journey in music, deviating from the metal/country roots. Through many member changes and a seemingly endless journey, TheGrumpy has performed in venues all over California from the Sunset strip's hottest clubs to smoky bars to arenas. TheGrumpy released its first EP in 2004 titled "Songs for the Scorned," a small collection of songs very closely related in both their inspiration and creation. During the next 3 years, TheGrumpy would secure its final line-up with the acquisition of a new bassist. 2007 began the recording the third album while concurrently releasing the band's first LP titled "THR33."
THR33 included the original recordings from the band's first trip to the studio, as well as the songs released on the EP
Songs for the Scorned. 2008 saw the release of
Throes of Contemplation which has received glowing reviews and praise from critics and fans. (See www.thegrumpy.com for press releases, CD reviews, interviews and more.) Today, TheGrumpy is writing the next album, tentatively titled "Five" and tearing up eardrums all over the west.
