Being nice, Music(playing/listening), sound and obsessing about all it's facets, wine, drums(sometimes), learning to do yoga without falling over, common sense, avoiding apathy in my old age, listening to and trying to understand other people......
Would love to have met Buddah........ hummm, how about Hitler as a youth before he became filled with so much hatred. Might have been able to change his mind about things and saved a lot of people much grief.....just a thought. Guess that would apply to a lot of people throughout history. Who else.....George Martin, a cup of tea and long conversations about all the great recordings he's made.
Indian Classical(i.e.: Ravi Shankar), Jazz(Coltrain, Bird, Monk, Satchmo, Ella, Sarah, Dianah W., Billie) Nels Cline, Bill Frissel, David Torn, Charles Ives, (Classical) most all the composers we know and love,Debussy, Ravel, Ludwig, Mozart, Bach etc..... Led Zeppelin, Joni Mitchell, Bjork, Doors, King Crimson, old country music(as in pre 70's, or 50's....no, pre 40's)....funny French guy named Serge Gainsbourg, Pinback(just about any Rob Crow project), Calexico(of course), Lhasa De Selah(could listen to her all day), This new cat named Sufjian Stevens is doing some nice stuff, lots of local idependant musicians/artists that I've come to know and respect.................NO 80's pop!! PLEEEEASE!!!
Lion in Winter(original), Harold & Maude, Gumball Rally, Buffalo 66, Eternal Sunshine, Spinal Tap, Red Violin, il Postino, any Cassavetes, any old Buster Keaton or Marx Bros(Night at the Opera), Baraka, Latcho Drom, Fantastic Planet, Blade Runner, anything by Miyazaki, Altered States, To Kill A Mocking Bird, One Flew Over the Cookoo's Nest, Clockwork Orange, Monty Python & the Holy Grail, Willy Wonka, Theremin an Electronic Odyessey, What the Bleep do We Know, Wallace & Gromit(how can anyone not like that stuff!)..........that's what comes to mind right now.
TLC stuff, Discovery(various), IFC, Iron Chef(Sakai rules!), Mystery Science Theater 3k, old Ren & Stimpy?......don't watch much TV, big waste of time for the most part.
Don't read much honestly, wish I did..............tech manuals, various music industry rags, tried to read a book by Allan Watts.....but DAMM!!
