Born in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, Marcus Elias was raised there until the age of 5, before his family moved to Rome, Italy & later South Africa, Johannesburg. At the age of 6, Marcus and his family were in a fatal car accident while living in South Africa. His father passed away instantly in the accident. Marcus's father was a Neurosurgeon & a Real Estate Developer. He had moved his family to South Africa because he was in charge of a project to construct a housing community for the homeless. Marcus was left with his right arm paralyzed which doctors said would never function again. Marcus was forced to become very ambidextrous. He underwent physical therapy for two years before miraculously his arm regained total control. Marcus's older brother and mother were severely injured in the car accident as well. At the age of 8, his remaining family which consisted of his four year older brother and mother, moved to Los Angeles, CA and later San Diego, CA.In the 4th grade Marcus played Trumpet then later switching to Trombone in the school band. At the age of 13, Marcus was then relocated to Baltimore, MD for one year, then West Palm Beach, FL. When Marcus was 14, he got into Turntablism and was given a set of turntables by his mother for his birthday. He started constantly practicing and competing in DJ battles around Fort Lauderdale and Miami, FL. In High School he took part in the battle of the bands competitions with other local artists that were involved in music. When Marcus was 18, he completed High School in Florida and immediately moved back to California to go to college. Before discovering Audio Engineering and Theory of Music, Marcus worked as a bus boy, Bill Collector, an IT Director, TTY relay operator, a Mobile Audio Installer, Home Loan Originator, OEM Sales Broker, and a Guitar Center employee while taking night classes at community college. When Marcus was 19, he invested in some Digital Recording Equipment, a keyboard and an MPC Drum machine, which he taught himself how to use. Shortly after, he started interning at local studios to learn Audio Engineering and different aspects of the Music Industry. Before Marcus turned 20, his mother was diagnosed with Endometrial cancer. Two weeks after his 20th birthday, his mother passed away from cancer after being diagnosed only two months prior. Marcus's mother was an Interior designer, and while living in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania she had designed homes for Barry Bonds, Wayne Gretsky & Bobby Bonilla, as well as many other distinguished locals. She also was a classically trained pianist & a painter, where this side of the family was the missing piece of the puzzle. In January of 2006, Marcus started taking private piano lessons and was enrolled in music classes at a local community college to explore his musical side. He began to produce his own music and market it himself. The rest is history in the making...
