The Palmerston Arms
is a multi-award winning community pub in the area of Woodston, Peterborough.Parts of the stone fronted building are believed to be more than 400 years old, and the pub is fairly unique in this area, dispensing up to 15 real ales and a variety of draught ciders & perry, direct from the cask.
The pub has no fruit machines, juke box music or any other noisy distractions to spoil the friendly atmosphere, good conversation and ale drinking!
The 'Palmy' as it is affectionately known by the regulars, has three times been voted the pub of the year by the
Peterborough & District Branch of CAMRA
This prestigious Award was presented in 1997, 1999 and the most recent occasion was in 2005...
...when the pub went on to be also voted Cambridgeshire Pub of the Year.
Previously a freehouse, the Palmy was purchased by
Batemans Brewery
in 2003, but continues to offer a superb range of guest ales from other regional & micro breweries from all around the country to support their own range of 'Good Honest Ales'.
The pub also serves Staropramen and Liefmans Kriek on draught; a wide selection of continental bottled beers, ciders and perries; and boasts a fine range of over 50 single malt whiskies.
Locally produced pork pies and pasties are available, hot or cold, in addition to a wide selection of popular snacks.
