Pubs, Real Ale and Beer Festivals; Quizzes (I'm a moderator on Quizardry , go and check it out!); Meeting people who can make me laugh; just going with the flow.
I used to enjoy most sports and was a keen cyclist, runner and swimmer. However, the only triathlon I'm likely to complete these days would be pool, darts & dominoes!
I have no interest whatsoever in any form of religion; politics; astrology or line-dancing!
My Locals,
The Coal Heavers Arms
and the Palmerston Arms
Lot's of minor interests, and I've always had a bit of a passion for the railways (being an ex train driver and all that!)
but I'm not really fanatical about anything these days, other than real ale of course!
I've met quite literally hundreds of so called 'celebs' or 'famous peeps', including several members of the Royal Family!
Sadly, the only people I ever really wanted to meet are now all dead!
They are...
Tony Hancock
Marilyn Monroe
Oliver Reed.
and John Lennon
I'd also like to meet a nice, sexy woman who speaks her mind; accepts me for who and what I am, treats and respects me accordingly, and does not expect me to buy them a house, as my last wife cost me £65k and left me penniless, homeless and broken, but not beaten!

A fabulous Radio series succesfully converted for the good old BBC TV when licence fees were still affordable! Shame about the recent movie version though!
I spend quite a lot of evenings in my local actually. I'd sooner have a social chat and a few pints with friends than sit in front of the box watching the crap that passes for TV these days. I tend to catch the news at least once a day, watch any major cricket match or football game (especially if England or my beloved Leicester City are playing!), and occassional documentaries
Dr Who is good, especially the new stuff with Christopher Eccleston, David Tennant and Billie Piper,
and you do get the occassional decent thriller or play. The Simpsons are OK.
I really do enjoy good comedy, but theres not exactly a lot of it about these days, Shameless is good
but even Peter Kay's having a break and Little Britain is becoming very boring (yes but no but).Whatever happened to British Comedy? Let's have more stuff like Only Fools and Horses; Fawlty Towers; Open All Hours; Hancock's Half Hour; Steptoe and Son;
Dad's Army; One Foot in The Grave; The Comic Strip Presents...(especially Mr Jolly Lives Next Door); Porridge; The Likely Lads; Lovejoy; Bottom
...after all, laughter is good for the soul!
Coronation Street used to be funny, but like all the soap operas, they try to make them too lifelike these days, and Brookside was Ok until Jen left!
Honestly. Do we really need all of these reality shows like Big Brother? The lengths that some people will go to for their 5 minutes of fame? Pathetic really.
Strangely enough, I have more or less stopped reading since I discovered t'net.
I do read the occassionally sports autobiography though, and I still read certain fantasy novels and sci-fi parodies (Philip K Dick, Ayn Rand, JRR Tolkein, Terry Pratchett, Douglas Adams etc)
Does Viz still count as reading? Although very strangely, I can't remember buying a copy since it went all commercial??
Bollocks! I spelt 'count' and 'can't' correctly for once!!!
I'll have to think about this one, although Tommy Cooper
and Ronnie Barker are already up there, and I would certainly have to include my late Grandmother for her love and inspiriation.
I think 'heroes' is the wrong word to describe some of the most iconoclastic people I have met or respect, so there are probably quite a few of them. I admire anyone who whatever their chosen profession or natural talents, gives it 100% effort, 100% of the time, a bit like me really!!
And just what is it about Stockings & Suspenders that send a guy wild?
