Testimonals
“Sam Merritt has been a student of beer for as long as I have known him and he has learned his lessons well. Sam has a great passion for this wonderful, inexpensive beverage and it comes across in his informative, and fun, presentationsâ€-Steve Hindy
cofounder, Brooklyn Brewery and coauthor of BEER SCHOOL
“Above all, Sam is conscious of who his audience is, and has a great way of educating without lecturing, so that the knowledge is passed on in a fun, playful and interactive manner. Beer education, like many areas of culinary education, is all about the tasting. I feel that Sam has always encouraged people to trust their gut, go with what they like, and reminded people that sometimes the best beverage pairing with food is beer not wine.â€

"Sam's insight and passion for Beer is unparalleled. He has a tremendous gift of guidance and hospitality which make for an amazing learning experience. You will never approach beer the same way after one heartfelt talk with Sammy."

“Sam Merritt is a huge advocate for Rocking the Boat. He got the Brooklyn Brewery to donate not just their great space for a Rocking the Boat fundraising event at the Brooklyn Brewery, but also got us three and a half hours of FREE Brooklyn Brewery beer on tap! It doesn't get any better than that! This meant that we had a fantastic party that people are still talking about and raised over $5,000 to support our traditional wooden boatbuilding and on-water education programs for high school kids in the South Bronx. We are incredibly grateful for all of Sam's support and generosity and look forward to continue to work with him in the future.â€

"Working with Sam on our fourth annual Iron Skillet Cook Off was one great surprise after another. Not only did Sam champion our cause and donate the beer for the evening, he took the time to match the appropriate brew with our dishes, work with our team on the floor plan and then hop on stage at the event to spark an impromptu, live auction offering a party at Brooklyn Brewery. If all of that weren't enough, Sam hosted the final three bidders increasing our donations three fold. The man has passions for his beer and his community."
