Celebrating 20 years of ska and reggae in 2008!! Bigger Thomas continues to keep crowds moving and grooving to their patented version of reggae ska that includes a heavy dose of traditional and 2-Tone ska thrown in for good measure.The band reflects the cultural diversity of the city they call home with members who have roots in the NYC metropolitan area as well as Haiti, Jamaica, Canada and the UK.Best known for their upbeat ska-pop song "Ska in My Pocket" they now play a diverse style encompassing ska, reggae, calypso, punk, african and latin rythyms.They have had the pleasure of performing alongside the English Beat, Colin Hay of Men At Work, Pato Banton, Jimmy Cliff, Yellowman, Burning Spear, Bad Manners, The Selecter, Special Beat, De La Soul, Bim Skala Bim, The Alarm and The Toasters.The band is signed to Megalith Records the premiere ska label in the world which includes The Toasters, West Bound Train, Eastern Standard Time, Hub City Stompers, Bomb Town, The Rudie Crew, The Bluebeats, New York Ska Jazz Ensemble and others. Their Megalith Records release "We Wear The Mask" was recorded at Version City Studios and produced/mixed by King Django. The band's most recent efforts "Resisting Success" and "Bigger Thomas" a CD/DVD reissue of their first out-of-print LP are also available online at biggerthomas.com, megalithrecords.com and itunes.comLook for Bigger Thomas to play shows throughout the US in 2008 and to tour throughout the northeast U.S. along with Hub City Stompers, Bomb Town, Steady Sound System and other premiere East Coast ska and reggae acts.The videos below are of two different live performances. The first was shot at the Knitting Factory in New York City in January 2008 and features three songs (I Live At Home, Loose Threads and Crown Victoria). The second is of the song Ska in My Pocket that was shot with three cameras by A Train Productions at The Canal Room in New York City in July 2006 during a support slot for Colin Hay. The third was also shot at the Knitting Factory in New York City in January 2008 and features Roy Radics on the song Simple Man.
