We’re very pleased to announce a 20-show European tour between June 25 – August 10, 2008!
Confirmed shows so far include The Lovebox Weekender (featuring The Flaming Lips, Manu Chao, Groove Armada), and Rip Curl Boardmasters Festival in the UK;, Roskilde in Denmark (Radiohead, Kings Of Leon etc); the Summerjam and Splash Festivals in Germany (Jay Z, Common, Steven Marley); the Garance Festival in France… and many many more.

NEW BLACK SEEDS ALBUM!!!!

The band have spent the New Zealand summer months in different locations throughout Wellington working on their new studio album! We’re very pleased to say that we expect to release the new album later this year!
The album will be released in New Zealand (EMI) and Europe through Sonar Kollektiv (www.sonarkollektiv.de). We expect to announce a confirmed release date in the very near future, as well as Australian and U.S tour and release details.

WELLINGTON SHOW ANNOUNCED:

To send the band off to Europe in style, The Black Seeds will play one last show at Wellington’s San Francisco Bathhouse on Friday 6 June. Tickets are on sale now from Real Groovy, Wellington. Get in fast!!

ABOUT THE BAND

Hailing from Wellington, New Zealand, The Black Seeds fuse dub, funk, and soul, with a classic reggae base. After forming in 1997, The Black Seeds have a gold album, two double-platinum selling albums, and a masterful 8-piece live show regarded as one of the finest in New Zealand.
After signing record deals with European labels Sonar Kollectiv and Rough Trade Netherlands in 2007, The Black Seeds successfully released their 3rd album Into the Dojo in Europe in July 07 to critical acclaim and strong airplay, followed by their third and most successful European tour in the summer 2007.
In 2008, The Black Seeds will release their highly anticipated 4th studio album through NZ, Europe, Australia and the U.S. The band will once again return to Europe in June – August, 08.
