About Me

neol davies was formerly the sole member of the 2tone band the selecter before it was a band! the instrumental of the same name shared equal billing with the specials song gangsters when the tracks were released in 1979 as the first 2tone records single, although gangsters obviously, over time, became much more well known. the selecter as a band recorded songs by neol which included on my radio, missing words, too much pressure, three minute hero and celebrate the bullet. reggae and blues and songwriting have always been the thread and that continues with the re-released albums box of blues and future swamp now available atbelow is the only video performance of my 8 piece instrumental ska band in 1995. drums-daniel crosby:bass-adrian litvinoff:hammond-justin dodsworth: tenor sax(section leader)-howell lovell:alto sax-brian clarke:trumpet-pete yeadon:trombone-john 'swordfish' tobin
