DJ Handz On is widely considered a hip-hop pioneer in Greenville, SC.She graduated with high honors from Southside High School and Furman University.VaShaun Pickens bka Shaun P. began spinning hip-hop records at all of her friends' party and local organizations, 1999 and solidified the hip-hop community in the Upstate.In 2001 she became one of the first female DJs representing the 864. Her hard determination was later picked up by more locals. Believing that everyone is a star and just her passion for music, she started going to showcases to watch local talents. Realizing her power to help, she dedicated to play local artists' songs in her rotation, thus giving her the title of, "The Unsigned Artist's Favorite DJ."She never had her on dj name, so she was known by DJ Shaun P. As more and more people realize not only who she was, but more so what she was, her identity became clear. She was first known for singing and playing drums at church and for cutting hair, but now she was being known for her ability to spin records for signed and unsigned artist. Not only was she known for her great personality, but now she was known for being good with her hands. Her friends started calling her Handz On with a "z" because she makes it look "e-z (easy)."She saw her name and talent for having a good ear of what people did and didn't want as an opportunity and decided to start her own entertainment business, HANDZ ON ENT. She believe that you set your own destiny and developed the company slogan based on her own personal belief that, "The POWER is in your Handz!" Handz On Ent. is focused on being the bridge from unsigned to signed. Handz On Ent. provides DJ services, production services, and management services.DJ Handz On is responsible for helping to kick start the careers of artists like Masta' Mind, G & Luck, Lil Momma, Ricky Prince, Grind Squad, Unforgiven, Fema, Ya Ya, Bounty Girlz, Fresh and more of which she is their personal dj and/or manager.She is affiliated with Reel 2 Real Production, 1 Love Management, and BeatBangas Production.Street Biz Magazine refers to HANDZ ON as arguably the most influential female personality in Hip Hop history for the Upstate.
