We were the flies in the ointment.......the black sheep of the scene.....the sons of nottingham, a nonstop whirlwind ball of confusion and a product of the days that collapsed into nothing.
Known to a few as Nathan, Ted, Jez, Wayne, Dan and Mike.
Known to many more as The GRIPS.
Formed in Nottingham in late 97 and on hiatus since 2004, the band shared the stage with the likes of Rocket From The Crypt, Flaming Stars, Icarus Line, Liars, Soledad Brothers, Mistreaters, Punish The Atom, Mooney Suzuki, Federation X, Supersuckers, Black Wire, Electric Frankenstein, Cellophane Suckers, Whirlwind Heat and others.
We were surrounded by tradegy and mishap, gossip and misbehaviour....but we are still here to tell the tale and have more (mis) adventures.
We stand proud with a smile on our face for the part we played and the stain's that we have left. The memories of the live spectacle and the music that is left to document that time.
Some of us have different causes these days, others are still an odessey and have set sail for new adventures.
The splinters are now shattered and we all now grow in different directions.

We stood for doing it rather than talking about it. We spent our time living for magical precious moments and only existed for the stage.
We did't believe in taking the obivious route and always rode the difficult path.
Our hymns were for all the damaged children to feel beuatiful again. We want everyone to be involved in this celebration of tradegy, you are all important and we are all making a difference.
