Now residing in Cardiff, Ascari are setting their sights on bigger and better things, aiming to reach their potential of becoming a success in the music industry. As a result, so far this year, Ascari have extensively gigged the UK, recorded their debut EP and have featured on BBC Radio One on more than one occasion (their first being the stations’ ‘house band’).
To date, Ascari have supported the likes of The Automatic, Jack Savoretti, Them Is Me (ex-Reef/Basement Jaxx) and have worked with acts such as Sophie Ellis Bextor, David Jordan and UnkleJam. This has given them valuable experience and has provided them with some exciting support slots and even headline shows in venues such as the Water Rats Theatre (London), Camden Barfly (London), Clapham Grand (London), The Joiners (Southampton), Cardiff Barfly (Cardiff), Cardiff University (Cardiff) etc.
Aside from music, the band has been involved in numerous projects for various universities. This has included shooting a music video for a final year degree project, along with being documented over a six month period.
Being brought up on the Pembrokeshire coast has had a major influence on the sound that Ascari produce. The mid-nineties surfer rock style has been adapted and revived by these boys making them extremely popular wherever they go.
Not only do they sound really good, but they're aesthetically pleasing and also Welsh!
