I am here for Friends and Networking

About Me

I am French-Italian, 48, married, with two daughters (13 and 14 1/2), and lots of pets. I am a secondary school teacher of languages (French, Spanish, Italian), a dyslexia specialist, and recently the author of an academic textbook (pretty boring stuff). I love French food and Italian wine, cooking, having a laugh, going out, but I be can be quite excentric and impatient (ask my girls!). I miss France a lot, and taught in several countries (Kuwait, South Korea and Switzerland) and miss the excitement of meeting new people and seeing new places. The world is a big place and there is so much more I have yet to see.

My Interests

I'd like to meet:

Italians! I'm half Italian and I miss speaking it. I'd also like to meet my 'myspace' friends very much.

Ascari in London

A very excited teenager got ready to go to her first gig, in a London club, no less. Emilie at the wonderful age of 15 could attend Ascari's gig and I was very proud to take her. She got ready at scho...

Little wonders

Little wonders Week one of teaching in 'my' primary schools. I was nervous as I am really a secondary teacher, used to giving back as much as I get from my grumpy teenagers. Little children baffle me ...

French people

First full week and I am shattered, with a sore throat. My classes are pretty good so far, cute year 7s, predictably grumpy year 11s, and a bit of everything in between. I have started teaching Religi...

Back at school

Never work with children and animals. Ever heard this? I should have paid more attention, maybe. Back at school for three days now, two with students, and I am already exhausted. Teenagers are ...

A seaside holiday

A broad semi-circle of honey-coloured sand, fringed by sharp rocks and oyster beds where the sea licks at it in foam-topped waves. At one end, the black rocks of the Devils' Bridge, supporting two bro...
