Truly to sing, that is a different breath ~ Rilke

About Me

Buzzine Magazine's Emmanuel Itier said in a recent review, "Jonathan doesn't play the guitar, he is the guitar!"
Jonathan McEuen was born to play music and bring joy to those listening. His dad was a famous rock star banjo picker. Good genes help, but when people respond to Jonathan’s extraordinary guitar playing and voice, it’s obvious he’s not just another son of a star.
Spending his youth on the road, playing & singing on stages all over the country certainly made the most of his natural talent and he's very grateful for that. Playing guitar and singing with so many world class musicians both inspired and toughened him up for music's many lessons. From 2005-2006 he tried out the country music world on a major label - as part of the duo Hanna McEuen with his cousin Jaime Hanna. That helped confirm it was time to move forward with creating music that expanded and pushed the boundaries of his extensive musical influences and any specific genres.
With more shows behind him than he can count (Jay Leno, Grand Ol’ Opry, and Red Rocks among them), Jonathan's well-prepared to take music and audiences in a new direction, free of limitations. Creating the need for additional genres, breaking some molds and breathing new life into musical traditions sounds like a lofty goal, till you see Jonathan and hear what he's doing.
With a guitar in his hands, and a microphone in front of him, if people with a heartbeat are within earshot, you can almost hear the sound of jaws hitting the floor and frequent religious invocations. Audiences are stunned silent by the unbridled passion of the “edge of your seat” guitarist, moved to tears by the depth and intense beauty of his voice, and scream with abandon when he breaks into a Prince or Dave Mason number. Moving fluidly in and out of folk, blues, rock, bluegrass and country influences, he makes it all work, deftly fusing genres in a delightfully eclectic way, with a generous helping of wit and charm.
Grab your friends and get ready for a THE show!
