A permanent member of the Lionel Hampton Big Band since 1997, bassist Christian Fabian releases a fabulous new CD "Curtain Of Life" on Spice Rack Records after his worldwide acclaimed debut "Across The Tracks" on CAP Records in 2006.
April 2007 – Christian Fabian, long time bassist for the Lionel Hampton Big Band, announces the release of his new CD featuring an All Star line up of Steve Hunt on Keyboards (Stanley Clark, Freddie Hubbard, Stanley Turentine) and Steve Michaud on Drums (Alan Holdsworth, David Hines ) with special guest appearances by tenor saxophonists Bill Vint (Aretha Franklin, The Temptations) and Lance Bryant (Bootsy Collins, Lou Rawls), presenting an exciting mix of original funk and groove songs, featuring Christian Fabian this time on a variety of different electric basses.

Christian Fabian, born in Sweden and raised in Germany, studied at the Maastricht Conservatory with the principal bass player from the Concertgebouw Symphony Orchestra. He has performed throughout Germany, the Netherlands, Belgium, Austria and Hungary. After receiving a scholarship to Boston's Berklee College of Music, he settled in the USA and graduated with a degree in performance and Film scoring Magna Cum Laude in the year 2000. He has since become one of the most sought after bassists on the US jazz scene while receiving numerous awards. He also studied with Herbie Hancock, Wayne Shorter, Billy Taylor, Mike Longo and other Jazz Greats. Aside from becoming an Artist in Residence at the University of Massachusetts Mr. Fabian has performed with such jazz notables as Jon Hendricks, Jimmy Owens, Gary Burton, John La Porta, Elvin Jones, Cheryl Bentyne , Ed Thigpen, Makoto Ozone, Chaka Khan,Bob Mintzer, Charlie Mariano, Rick Margitza, Gloria Gaynor and the The Mike Longo Big Band.
