OK, I guess it's kind of obvious that I love music. I know that lots of people say "music is my life" in their profile. Well, it's probably true for them and it is for me too. As I look back on all the fads and interests that I have had during my four decades on this planet, I gotta say the one constant is music.
NYCity was the perfect backdrop for me while growing up. It provided me with a music/musical theatre education that no school or teacher ever could. I did study though...piano, guitar, acting and voice. I went all the way upstate to Buffalo, NY to attend college. It was cold...really cold. A few years later, after thawing out, I found myself back in the New York city area going on auditions, and taking more classes at H.B. studios for acting and Long Island's Five Town's College for music. It didn't take long for me to realize that I was not meant to pound the pavements of NY. "So now what?" I knew in my heart I had to do something with music or theatre but what? Well, after a few years of trying to find my niche in the world.. I started coaching other aspiring performers...and WOW, I loved it. Not long after, it hit me that I didn't need to be in the NY area to teach & coach. Surely, there were potential students and amazing people all over this great land. SO... I left NY and relocated to Florida (warm weather at last!!!) where I spent 10 years on the beach...no no no, I was directing children's theatre, coaching vocalists, & teaching piano & guitar. I also met Scott, the love of my life and now he's my husband. In June of 2005, we moved to Franklin,Tennessee, right outside of Nashville.(Music City,USA...how cool) Today I am a very happy music& musical theatre teacher, coach & director. I miss my family in NY (especially my sweet little niece)...but I think they understand how much I love my life here. So, I visit whenever I can & am truly thankful for unlimited long distance calling!
And that's it... my story. I know it's not the most exciting, but hey it's mine and almost all of it is true!
