About Me

I've done a few fanzines throughout my life with varying degrees of success. For now I'm planning on keeping this an online venture and maybe eventually I'll do a print project if I feel that there's a demand. Of course the romantic in me loves the idea of actual zines that can be held in the reader's hands but realistically more people will read online and financially it makes much more sense to create something for free than to spend money that I don't have photocopying pages.
Activated! will aim to cover mostly punk rock music and culture but it will certainly also have some degree of politics within its contents. For those who think that punk rock and politics should not go together I make no apologies. We live in a time where being apathetic means paying no attention to the injustice that goes on right outside of all of our doors, or even in some cases probably within our own walls. Anyone who would rather take the hear no evil, see no evil approach can find get into their crawlspace and look at boobz.com. -Ditch-
Our policies:
1. Interviews are presented as first hand accounts, oral histories, and a chance to let people represent themselves. They are not to be taken as factual hard pieces of news or unbiased treatments of facts. With this in mind we do not censor our interviews or change information within them unless we are requested to do so by the subjects/interviewees.
2. Activated! comes fully equipped with a social/political agenda to support positive change and speak out against oppression, authoritarianism, corruption, and tyranny. While we are happy to answer to responses and perhaps even publish some arguments against our positions we will in no way support any organization or cause which advocates oppression or inequality. We will use our own jurisdiction in these matters. We are happy to support any group or organization that stands for liberation or attempts to give a voice to alienated or oppressed parties (which does NOT include rich white American socialites). Unlike many media outlets we do not claim to present a "balanced" perspective.
