My interests include Rennasiance Faire, relaxing at the beach (at night mostly), movies, books, strategy games.. Gaming (D&D and the such), oh ya.. and the big one? Computers. Weither it be networking, internet chat, hardware, or software.. I do it for fun. All worship my geekosity.
People that have a brain, use it and dont think they are any more or any less than what they are. Period, end of story.
My parents.. yes my parents told me.. If its to loud.. your to old. I never understood how I was older than they were. To this day my hearing is not what it should be because of growing up in a 70's household where there was only one volume setting on the stereo.. deafening. However as a result.. Although when no background music is present, I hear fine.. where there is, I have a very hard time hearing conversations over the music. So as far as I am concerned.. the music I do listen to has to interest me. Story. Words I can understand. I don't care what kind of music it is so long as there is a story in it that interests me. Thus I listen to a lot of just about anything. Currently in my music folder (which the content of is very fluid) Linkin Park, Evenessence, The Beatles, Johnny Cash, 8different movies scores and 3 soundtracks, Sheryl Crow, Eminem, Coldplay, Queen, Rob Zombie, Metalica, Guns and Roses, Depeche Mode, Loreena McKennitt and my favorite "get out of a funk mood because at least your doing better than this guy" music.. Vast.
This answer would change every freaking month if I let it. So I will just answer with this.. Batman.. The first one with Jack Nicholas and Michael Keaton. June 23rd, 1989. No one had seen a movie like this one. It raised the bar so high for movies, I think only the first Spiderman movie, done almost a decade and a half later, came even close. "Can you tell me why a man dressed up as a bat.. steals all of my press? This town needs an enema!" Sad to say I am pretty sure, even though I havent seen it in a very long time, I can still quote most of it.*Update* The more I watch it the more I love it. Donnie Darko. It may soon be my all time favorite.By the way. Any Given Sunday. Watch it. I am not a football fan and I loved it.
I have started to watch a decent amount of television. My favorites are The Riches, House, Smallville, and most of all the 1-2 punch of The Daily Show and The Colbert Report.
Books, video games and booze are my only escapes from reality anymore. I kinda got bored of video games and only play them where there is nothing else to do, and I cant always be drunk so.. I read a lot. I learned to speed-read at a very early age and took to books quickly. I could cheat and say that my favorite books are the Lord of the Rings books (which they are) or that I devour the Harry Potter books with an insatiable lust (which I do), but these would not surprise anyone.. sooo.... I have read the Jim Morrison biography "No one gets out alive" 3 times.. the Tim Allen "Never stand next to a naked man" twice and Drew Carey's "Dirty jokes and beer" also 3 times. I like the story of most comedians lives for some reason.. (No of course Jim Morrison was not a comedian, but he very much made money off the distortion of reality, which he of course has in common with comedians). I try to understand what they went through to look at life from a standpoint that, unlike most people, is very public and they talk about freely. Make sense?
I don't believe in heroes. Not in real life anyways. I believe that anyone, given the right situation, would find the courage and conviction to stand up for something. Just as everyone, given the wrong situation, would cower and submit. Some people have found where in the scheme of that they belong. To use an often used example.. the New York Fire Department. If they are to be called heroes.. then it shouldn't be because of 9-11. It should be because they do that every single day. So does the social worker that gets kids off the street. So is the waitress who gets pinched in the butt and keeps her mouth shut so she can continue working there and feed her family. I don't believe in heroes.. But if I did.. I'd count myself as one of them. Then I would build a statue for my mom. Because all of the descriptions above (except the fire fighter) were of her at different points in her life. If I believed in heroes.. I would worship her.
