About Me

Robert Vinson is a dynamic, eclectic composer residing in Los Angeles, California. Growing up in the arts minded community of Woodstock, N.Y., he began composing at the age of 16. He soon became part of the New York music scene. He worked as a composer, arranger, and performer in New York City from 1975-1981. Although he earned his living in the commercial music field, his real passion was to compose new music for the symphonic orchestra. In 1981 he moved to Vancouver, British Columbia where he worked until 1987. While in Vancouver he performed with the Vancouver Symphony and recorded two Jazz albums, one of which won him a spot on the 1985 Montreux Jazz Festival.Robert moved to Los Angeles in 1987 to study Film-Score Composition. He studied composition with many of Hollywood's leading film composers.Robert has composed 3 symphonies, a concerto for violin, a concerto for clarinet, a ballet, many chamber music works; including ‘3 Pieces for Violin, Clarinet and Piano’, ‘Romance for Violin’, and ‘Alone’ for solo clarinet.
