Bob Vinson Jazz

Bob Vinson, Robert Vinson in the world of classical music and film scoring, has decided to come out of hibernation. Yes, after 20 years of playing only for other leaders around Los Angeles, he is fronting his own group once again, and a new CD will soon be available. Bob is a multiple woodwind instumentalist who prefers jazz as a player. He is featured on Alto and tenor sax, clarinet and flute. He has an eclectic approach to jazz, with roots in bebop and blues, that is unique and approachable. The selections here on myspace are taken from his band repertoire used on the "Montreux Jazz Festival in 1985. He hopes to be touring Europe this Summer and rehearsing new material for future CD's. Bob has a fascinating small big band book (12 players) that he plans to start rehearsing soon based on the fusion style band he led many years ago in NYC.
