The first music I listened to heavily was guns n roses. In high school around '96 I got really into east coast hip hop: Wu Tang, Mobb Deep, I listened to Liquid Swords and Ironman over and over. I also went to my first rave in '96 and got all into hardcore for a bit. I got over hardcore and since hip hop on the radio started to slowly get more terrible, I started looking for hip hop in other places and got into underground. I've finally started to get back into hip hop. For a few years most everything I heard was dissapointing, but once in a while an album would come out to renew my faith and remind me that the genre was not completely dead. Now it seems that true hip hop artists are progressing forward (and backwards by bringing back the soul into hip hop that I had missed so much). In '99 I started going to some parties again. I went to NRG in '99 and fell in love with Drum & Bass listening to a set by Deacon. Since then Drum & Bass has been my passion. In the past year I've been looking for other things to play when I'm driving and don't feel like listening to my own sets 20 times in a row. Now that I have my iPod, all my old favorite hip hop is being played again. After I started producing and searching for samples, I found that I really love funk, soul, and jazz. All the music I currently listen to connects in a way back to those genres... it just makes sense!
Sounds Like: Drum & Bass
