Divine Elements
(Concise & Ru)
In early 2003, Los Angeles natives Devin Dilmore and Ryan Pepple combined forces to introduce something quite rare to the world of Drum and Bass. The two veteran dj's had been producing tracks together since 2001, but decided that there needed to be something more to what they were trying to accomplish. In a world over- flooded by producers turned dj and vice versa, it was time that something refreshing was brought to the forefront. It was then that they decided to dive into live production, and the name Divine Elements was born.
With an extensive background in event production as owner and operator of Los Angeles based H20 Productions and over 9 years dj experience; Devin Dilmore, aka Concise, provided a strong backbone for the uprising duo. Releasing highly touted mix-tapes and cd's across the nation, furthering the progression of the scene was always his passion and remains his passion to this day. His vast knowledge of the technology at hand and great ear for good music proved him to be a perfect fit for collaboration with another artist who shared the same passion. That other artist proved to be none other than Ryan Pepple, aka Ru. Having been a musician since a young age, djing and production came second nature to Ru. He began his dj career in early 1999 with H20 Productions and from there on became close friends with Concise. Before long, the two realized that they shared very similar interests in music and started djing and producing together.
It wasn't until 2004 that the duo became part of Grapevinez International, where they met world-renowned drum and bass legend McMc. Divine Elements performed their first live show at a Grapevinez event and have since gone on to perform at such highly regarded events as History, Konkrete Jungle, Legendz, and Respect; sharing lineups with such artists as Pendulum, Nickey Blackmarket, Accidental Heroes, Future Prophecies, Cause 4 Concern,
Hive, Gridlok, Invaderz, Evol Intent, John Tejada, JuJu and many more. With a nationwide tour entitled "Element of Surprise" under their belt which included stops in Honolulu, Los Angeles, Baja Mexico, San Diego, San Francisco, Arizona, New York, New Mexico, Nevada, and beyond, this rising talent has no boundaries in sight. In June of 2006, D.E. released their self- produced, freshman album "Defining Moment" on H2Zero Recordings, creating a buzz in the local scene. Quickly, the word was getting out that Divine Elements was on the rise, garnering airplay on multiple international radio shows including X-Site Radio, DNBRadio.com and a now-infamous broadcast on the prestigious BBC Radio 1xtra UK radio show with L Double. Still, many were skeptical until having seen for themselves the fruits of this relentless duo's labor. Bringing with them on stage a vast array of synthesizers, laptops, effects processors and midi controllers; one can not help but be visually and audibly stimulated. Inspired by such artists as BT, Chemical Brothers, Crystal Method, Roni Size and Reprazent, Thievery Corporation and many more, it is no wonder why Divine Elements does things the way they do. They continue to knock down barriers and create a fresh sound that is far from ordinary. Much more is in store for D.E. so be on the lookout for this unique rising talent.
