Strongheart

USA/UK Hard Rock Trio

About Me

LATEST NEWS Wilbur will be returning to the States at the start of November, so Blackhall Navy Club will probably be our last gig for a while.Strongheart formed in LA in 1988 by Wilbur & Bobby with Bill Evans on bass. The band relocated to Sheffield UK & quickly built up a large following and reputation for being the hardest rocking band around. In 1991 they were signed by Vanda & Young, AC/DC's management & recorded their first album 'Hard Wired' in Australia. They returned to the UK and were featured in session on Tommy Vance's Friday Rock Show, but problems with the record company distribution meant they failed to capitalise on the success of this and their MTV featured single 'Kids are Wired'. The band recorded a second album 'Ritual', but bass player Billy Evans left for the USA soon after. For a year the band played with various pick-up bass players, sometimes going out as Jimi Zeppelin and just playing covers. In 1998 Chris McMahon of Haze, World Turtle , Treebeard , and Satsuma! joined the band & they resumed a hectic touring schedule, which included an appearance at the Borstrock festival in Holland. Wilbur returned to the USA at the end of 2001, effectively putting the band on hold. Chris returned to working with his other bands & Bobby has carved out a successful career in drum tuition & drum clinics, as well as being an in demand session player. Wilbur is now back in the UK & the band are gearing up for a fresh round of tour dates. Watch this space!
