Trez Rek 500 - rock n roll from Oakland California

About Me

Carvelli and Tomo first played together in the mid 90's in the Mineral Kings , a San Francisco based rock band that played every club in the city over a 2 year period.
Carvelli was the lead vocalist while Tomo played lead guitar. The sound was consistenly compared to Canada's Tragically Hip by the music press, which was funny as we had never heard of T-Hip until we started reading our own reviews.
As fate would have it, Tomo moved to London and the Mineral Kings continued without him. They released the CD Atomic Numbers in 1999. Tomo returned to the Bay Area in 2001 and rejoined the Mineral Kings, this time on both drums and guitar. The result was the 2003 release, Metropolis . The band toured extensively up and down the West Coast in 2003/2004.
In early 2007, Carvelli and Tomo decided to start Trez Rek 500 and to rebuild Hillside Studios which is currently under construction. We're re-energized to say the least. Thanks for visiting our page. All tunes will be downloadable as we finish them.

My Interests

Music:

Band Website: myspace.com/trezrek500
Band Members: Carvelli - Lead Vocals
Tomo - Drums & Guitars
Influences: Many...we'll start with the classics. The Who, Cheap Trick, Bob Marley, Nazareth, Stones, Led Zeppelin, the Clash, Black Sabbath, Jimi Hendrix, Queen, KISS, the Police among others.

Newer bands would be Muse, Kings of Leon, Editors, Matisyahu, AFI, Tenacious D.

The greatest unsigned bands of all time, all of which have a huge influence on us, would be

Dandilyon Soup - Seattle - Grunge Switchblade (w/Ratso, Johnny Castle, Stuart Smith) - Washington DC - Rockabilly Nervous Romance - Blacksburg Va - Rock
We do this because we love Rock n Roll more than the money we piss away recording :)
Sounds Like: Currently we sound like the Mineral Kings, only because Carvelli and Tomo used to both play together in the Mineral Kings. The new sounds is coming together. So far it reminds us of Queen meets Sublime, which sounds implausible.

Record Label: Hillside Records
Type of Label: Indie
