Me Myself & I

Straight up Philly Style.....Shaken not Stirred

About Me

Strong, Independant woman yet fun and spontaneous. I'm serious but silly..perhaps seriously silly. I'm graceful yet clumsy. Get it? Eastcoast meets westcoast....I'm very accepting & easy going BUT don't think you can play me....yep Playas prepare to get played.

My Interests

riding my bike with child-like abandon, pilates, music, good food, running, a lot of good food after running or cycling, movies, Warriors games, books, seeing shows, hanging out with friends, chilling with Malik, physically challenging myself, getting out of town, chilling, being healthy, being "bad", balance, tattoos, old cars, trying new things, living & enjoying life, travelling, boots (wearing them and knockingthem..hahah), dressing up, dressing down, meeting interesting people, and pretzles!! I'm trying to become a swimmer...so currently swimming is an interest...or at least a challenge that I'm involved in. ****Anything that helps me in my rehabilitation from my injury is an interest to me these days.

I'd like to meet:

Open minded people that are REAL. Oh yeah...people that ride bikes are really really cool!!!! People that say what they mean and mean what they say...(Sincerity is a beautiful quality). People not into game and drama. (Except Twister...or Dominoes, or Scrabble. I like playing those games.) People that are responsible and respectful towards others. People that aren't "too cool for school"....and those not afraid to try new things. People that aren't afraid to laugh and just be silly...... Creative people that aren't afraid to live and experience life. People that like to have fun on a moments notice. People that challenge me and make me think. I am fortuntate to have a bunch of wonderful people in my life, and I'm always open to expanding that circle. I'm into meeting friends that's it...I've got a boyfriend...it's great...so I'm not looking for anything other than friends.

Music:

Ranges from r & b, soul, reggae, dance hall, hip-hop, rock n roll, punk rock, and a little bit of everything in between. (Anything with a beat baby!) Eryka, Outkast, Buju Banton, Jill Scott, Barrington Levy, Antibalas, Angie Stone, Tribe, Steel Pulse, The Roots, Zap Mama, Afrika Bambaata, Jimi Hendrix, The Clash, Earth Wind & Fire,..and oh so much more.

Movies:

To Sir with Love, Resevoir Dogs, Beat Street, Guess who's coming to dinner, Do the Right thing, The Godfather, Goodfellas, The Usual Suspects, Blade Runner, Mo Betta Blues, Car Wash, and anything Hitchcock..to name a few. "For what it is worth" a triathalon documentary is pretty motivating if you're doing any sort of training.

Television:

Heroes!!!

Books:

The two books I'm working on right now: Sports nutrition for the Endurance Athlete & Strong Women Eat Well. Anf ofor reference: Pilates for dummies and Living without Back pain

Heroes:

Bob Marley...MLK...Those fighting for a just cause....people that are real and don't get caught up in the bling bling. People that get through tough times and are stronger and wiser because of it. Wonderwoman rocks too! Oh yeah..and Underdog..he's my hero. And people that aren't afraid to take risks and challenge themselves...I admire & respect that 100%

My Blog

I’m learning to swim.....

and it is truly one of the most challenging workouts I have ever done. It's crazy, I can ride my bike 600 miles to LA 3 times, compete in several half marathons, but a damn 50 minute swim class kicks...

I'm selling raffle tickets (to win an ipod nano) to help raise my required donation for AIDSlifecycle. If I don't raise the minimum, I either can't ride, or I need to cover it myself. (That sucks...is...

challenges/ struggles/ironies

The hardest thing about doing the AIDSlifecycle ride is raising the donation money. Isn't that rather ironic? I mean come on...I'm riding my bike 585 miles for a total of 7 days and I'm camping. As mo...
