Modern Tango Quintet

Modern Tango Quintet consists of five young musicians from Copenhagen, who all have a fiery passion for the modern tango. The quintet was formed in 2001 and has since then been focusing the fantastic tango music of among others Astor Piazzolla, Igor Stravinsky, Antonio Agri and Kalevi Aho. With this repertoire, we have played concerts all around Denmark, and our next goal is to present it to audiences in the rest of Europe and Argentina, the very home of tango. In 2006 we released our debut CD “Modern Tango Quintet // Kim Sjøgren”, and coming up is a world premiere of Columbian composer Eblis Alvarez’s new tangos.
