Despite being labeled an elitist, hipster, punk rocker, asshole my interests are surprisingly varied. I enjoy reading, writing, both fiction and non-fiction alike, listening to enough music to kill a small pachyderm, going on walks for transit and recreation, politics, modeling, eating pancakes for fun and profit, Chicago, bad puns, grappling with that elusive beast I call sleep, drawing, bleeding a little bit, second-hand smoking (or Stalins), going to shows, smiling and laughing, improv, visiting historical landmarks, art, watching fine cinema, swimming, giving bad directions, drinking too much coffee, laying in the grass, sitting on concrete, shouting platitudes and gibberish, Green River, good conversation, and karate chops. Its impossible to describe ones self objectively so I wont even make any pretenses of doing so. Im moody but polite. Ive been described as a nice guy with a great sense of humor by girls whove rejected me and conversely jeered as a fucking asshole by my friends and loved ones.
I'd like to meet some good folks into independent music, movies, Fresca, cussing, black socks, literature, or someone willing to buy me an Optimator or two at the L & L. Also The Ghostbusters or anyone else who can get me a job busting ghosts.
Yes, have some.

Bob Newhart and only Bob Newhart. The usually stalwarts maintain the equilibrium (see; Arrested Development, The Simpsons, Late Night With Conan O'Brian, Chicago Tonight, Kids In The Hall, The Green Hornet, The State, Adult Swim, et al). I hesitate to list more because shows I like have a tendency to get canceled.
Whew...where do I start? I'll just list a few of my favorites: Cometbus's Lanky, Chicago Stories, Double Duce, and Mixed Reviews, Vonnegut's Cat's Cradle, Wright's Native Son, De Grazia's American Skin, Loewen's Lies My Teacher Told Me, Bukowski's Tales of Ordinary Madness, Camus's The Stranger, Orwell's 1984 and Animal Farm, Adams' The Hitchhiker's Guide To The Galaxy, Naylor's Red Dwarf, Plato's The Trial And Death Of Socrates, Dante's Inferno, Shaara's Killer Angels, Boulle's The Bridge Over The River Kwai, Heller's Catch 22, Huxley's A Brave New World, Puzo's The Godfather, Twain's The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn, Salinger's Catcher In The Rye, Dorsey's Flordia Roadkill, the poetry of Ted Joans (R.I.P. Rhino), Dave Eggers' Heartbreaking Work of Staggering Genius and You Shall Know Our Velocity, Braff's The Unthinkable Thougths Of Jacob Green, Baer's See No Evil, Palahniuk's Fight Club, Choke, Survivor, and The Haunted, Al Burian's Burn Collector, and Jack Kerouac's On The Road. Read'em. Currently, I'm reading Nacy Weiss's Farewell to the Party of Lincoln: Black Politics in the Age of FDR, David Brody's Workers in Industrial America, and Punk Planet.
I don’t have heroes per say, but I will list a few folks that I respect the hell out of. Aaron Cometbus, with his frenetic drumming and insightful writings. I really respect how he's able to live life on his own terms without having a driver’s license. It looks like St. Paddy can be added to this list for similar reasons. Lance Hahn, get well soon. Jimmy Carter, not for his presidency but for his humanitarian efforts. My mom. Your mom. People who make or promote underground music, art, or literature, or anyone who tries to live selflessly can also be included in this list. Oh, and peacocks. They defy so many laws of color and gravity that they have to be mad geniuses just waiting to take over everything.
