About Me

I am a Chicago artist wishing to share my collection with anyone and everyone who appreciates life, and the little moments and details that make life so profoundly magical. My love of photography stems from a very guarded & leery past where I invested my time (unwisely!) in ensuring my emotional and spiritual safety. This was achieved by absolutley refusing to acknowledge any indication of beauty, kindness, or sentiment in my environment. To do so would potentially put me at risk to...1. fall in love (with a chance of not being loved back) 2. weep tears of sorrow (or worse yet, tears of joy) 3. fully appreciate (and understand) what passion feels/looks/tastes/sounds like. 4. see a little bit of God everyday. Then I picked up a camera. I captured unsuspecting strangers, engaged in the most tedious of routines, machines operating as they did day after day, buildings resting, trains passing, babies crying, lovers kissing, coffee getting cold, people waiting, laundry spinning, kittys sleeping, flowers blossoming, candy spilling, life existing. Everything was at its most beautiful....and I was alive. ~Rachel N. I edited my profile with Thomas' Myspace Editor V4.4

My Interests

In addition to the prints I have posted, an entire four years worth of work exists in my portfolio. I had the difficult task of having to choose my very favorites to display. if you are interested in viewing my other prints, let me know, and id be thrilled to send you some. My style is overall very urban and gritty, focusing on the daily trials and tribulations of city life that often remain overlooked. Once the image has been captured, I immediatly manipulate it further in order to super impose my interpretation on a refection otherwise out of my control. This way, the final image becomes a memoir for both me and my unknowing subject. Each print is $25 for an 8x10, and that includes a signed, matted print and shipping. I accept only paypal at this time, but the transaction process is incredibly simple! The images within the photos are often contradictions, as they command both immense power and utter simplicity. For this reason, I love waking up to these reflections every morning, as they remind me to fully embrace the unfound treasures of the day ahead.
