Let's begin this portion of the program by saying that I don't like to try to squish things I like into a list. I feel bad about who or what I might leave out. The list could go on and on. Having said that, I proceed anyway.... I like all kinds of music. Some of the good ones on my mind at the moment... Van Morrison, Thelonius Monk, Les Paul, Bruce Springsteen, Sting, Nanci Griffith, Buffalo Springfield, CSN, Toad the Wet Sprocket, Dean Martin, Frank Sinatra, Dar Williams, Quincy Coleman, Marian Call...
Movies I can see again and again and again: Star Wars. Sixteen Candles, Top Gun, Ferris Bueller. Singin' in the Rain. Fargo. The English Patient. Breakfast at Tiffany's. To Kill a Mockingbird. Office Space. Current Favorite: *WAITRESS*
PBS, TLC, The Food Network, and Comedy Central. MSNBC is good when I need a news fix. My favorite show at the moment is TLC's What Not to Wear. A show criticizing how people dress, shallow? Nah, gimme $5k to drop on clothes in NY and you can criticize me all you want. I just love Clinton Kelly and Stacy London. I wish I could put them in the pocket of my fabulously fitted jacket and trousers and take them with me wherever I go. Then there's The Daily Show. And The Colbert Report, too. The Office is brilliant. Boston Legal, Shatner and Spader are the best team on TV. Sex and the City. Countdown with Keith Olbermann. Oh, and Firefly... I am a new convert to the goodness that was Firefly.
What a person reads says volumes about them. All you need to know about me is explained by the following historical journey of favorite books and/or writers... Green Eggs and Ham (high five to all you other green eggers), Beatrix Potter, Amelia Bedelia, Agatha Christie, The Little Prince, Jean Auel's Clan of the Cave Bear, Margaret Atwood, Molly Ivins, Anne Morrow Lindbergh, Elaine Pagels. And my bookshelf of honor holds some of my all time favorite reads and authors:Jane Austen's Pride and Prejudice, Tracy Chevalier's Girl With a Pearl Earring, Ernest Hemingway's A Moveable Feast, Virginia Woolf, Saul Bellow, Ian McEwan, Truman Capote, F. Scott Fitzgerald. And then there are the poets and playwrights... William Shakespeare, Delmore Schwartz, Lorine Niedecker, Emily Dickinson, George Bernard Shaw, Oscar Wilde, Thornton Wilder, Samuel Beckett, Eugene O'Neill...
My husband. I'm not one for gushing, so I won't go any further....
