About Me

Bishop Charles W Maddox, DD
Presiding Prelate & Chief Apostle

Website: www.btgifoc.org

Bishop Charles W. Maddox received his call to ministry at age eleven. After graduating in 1968 from Howard High School, he attended McKenzie Business College and became extremely successful as a young executive working in Corporate America. The call of God soon had Charles W. Maddox on the road to full time ministry. In 1979 he was duly consecrated a Bishop in the State of New York. For many years he was led by God to continue Pastoring and serving a Baptist congregation in North Alabama. He is married to Mary Warren Maddox and has six children, Anthony, Odell, Monica, Kasonta, Byron, and Tumecca.

Early in his ministry, Bishop C. W. Maddox felt the Lord calling him to bridge the gap between race and denomination. As a result he became a Bridge Builder. “They will know we are Christians by how we LOVE each other; For the Bible says ‘By this all men shall know that you are my disciples that you have love one for another’ ” (John 13:35), says Bishop Maddox. “One of the greater signs and wonders the world has seen is when the Body of Christ comes together in agreement and loves each other...in spite of their differences, and regardless of race, denomination, and social-economic status”. God has called Bishop Maddox to pull down barriers, destroy dividing walls, and reunite the body of Christ. This supernatural call of God is truly for the end time.

Because of his intense love for all people and the message God has given him, Bishop Maddox has been called upon as a Conference Speaker and Facilitator well outside of his denomination and race. He has planned and conducted Round Robin Revivals which had its beginning in the Grand Junction, Colorado area and spread to other cities. These high powered services are held at a different church and denomination each night. Meetings like these build trust and relationship between area Pastors while creating an atmosphere where God can be God for Bishop Maddox’s motto is “We agree on what we can agree on and agree to disagree on what we can not agree on, that there may be fellowship among us, the Saints”.

Bishop Maddox currently serves as Chief Apostle and Presiding Prelate of Bridging The Gap International Fellowship of Churches and Senior Pastor & Teacher of Bridging The Gap Deliverance Church International. Though this Fellowship is in its initial stages, it presently covers approximately twenty-five (25) churches in several states: Alabama, Georgia, Florida, Indiana, Kentucky, Tennessee, Ohio, Texas, Washington, DC, and soon to include North and South Carolina, Virginia, and Pennsylvania. This International Fellowship, also, covers two other Fellowships. Bishop C. W. Maddox is bridging gaps with the love of God as he helps people to reach their wealthy place and their destiny. From 2000 to 2003 Bishop C. W. Maddox served as the Episcopal Assistant to Bishop Felton M. Smith, Jr., the Episcopal Jurisdiction Bishop of Tennessee Eastern First Ecclesiastical Jurisdiction of the Church of God in Christ Worldwide, headquarters in Memphis, Tennessee. He has become known as “a Preacher’s Preacher and a Pastor’s Pastor…, a Bishop’s Bishop, and an Apostle’s Apostle.
