I am here for Friends and Networking

About Me

The eldest of four children (3 boys & 1 girl), Bishop Coles was born on April 26, 1948 to the Reverend Lloyd C. Coles, Jr. and the late Wilma R. Coles. Reared in the reverence and admonition of the Lord, he accepted Christ as Savior and became a disciple of the Lord at an early age. At the age of 18, he accepted the mantle placed upon him by the Holy Spirit to preach the Gospel. In doing so, he became a fourth generation preacher in the Church of God in Christ (COGIC); following in the steps of his great-grandfather (the late Elder William Coles), his grandfather (the late Elder Lloyd C. Coles, Sr.), and his father.Bishop Coles was licensed a minister in 1966 by the late Bishop Samuel Kelsey (Washington, D.C. Ecclesiastical Jurisdiction) and was ordained an elder in 1969 by the late Bishop David C. Love (Virginia, 1st Ecclesiastical Jurisdiction). Under the tutelage of his father his ministry took root and grew while serving as Assistant Pastor to his father at the Gethsemane COGIC (Alexandria, Virginia). In October 2004, he was consecrated bishop of the state of Virginia for The Convention of Covenanting Churches. He serves also as organizer/senior pastor of New Dominion Covenant Fellowship (Lorton, VA) and as founder, senior executive vice president, and board member of Body Builders Ministries, Inc. He appreciates, and values, the diversity within the Body of Christ, and transcends denominational, cultural, ethnic, and gender boundaries with the ministry of reconciliation. Sharing with him in ministry is his wife Joanna, daughter Yolánda, and son Julian.
