He is an award winning actor/writer who’s versatility has spanned both film & television as well as theatre and cabaret scenes in New York City.Fleming made his feature film debut in 2004 when he starred as the outrageous “Terryâ€, in “The Ski Tripâ€. The film later went on to make television history when it aired on Viacom’s new gay-themed network LOGO as the first Black Gay Film on TV. Fleming has also worked on the hit television shows “Ugly Betty", "Chappelle's Show" and the major motion pictures “Freedom Land†and "August Rush".Daren, also a playwright and stand-up comic created the fictional character “Miss Grenadine Ross†An International Recording Diva Stuck in the 1960's, in 2004, and is his most popular/on-going character to date.Some of his other characters include Street hustler Shadrack Saunders, Heart-throb D.G. Williams, and the televangelist Sister Ukulele Grizwald.In 2005 Daren wrote, directed, and starred in a musical workshop of his play "Merry Christmas! Love, Grenadine Ross & The Cherries" to very positive revues. Fleming's work was even mentioned by Michael Musto in the Village Voice.Daren has hosted the Off-Broadway spoof game show “The Ultimate Drag OFF!†in addition to being crowned Grand Champion of "Sounds of the 60's", "Disco Divas", and "Totally 80's" nights as a weekly "contestant". He was the winner of "Boot Camp" at Vlada Lounge in New York where hosted his own weekly game show "Camp Grenadine Ross". Daren is also the reigning "Miss Fire Island Film Festival 2008" awarded to him by the Long Island Gay & Lesbian Film Festival. Daren holds a Bachelor of Sciences Degree in Creative Writing from The New School University (in Manhattan) where he graduated Magna Cum Laude.
