I was born in the city of Kirov, Russia and started skating at the age of 8. I took to the sport instantly. I began competing and at the age of 12 my coach advised me to move to Moscow to continue my career. I was able to find a partner and was put on the Russian National Team. Together we won the Russian Junior National Championships and medals at the Junior World Championships 2 years consecutively. After my partner retired I had to find another quality partner. This led me to America and in 2000 I found my current partner/wife. We started skating together and in February of 2001 we were married. We went on to win 6 National medals along with many international medals. A special action by Congress in 2005 allowed me to obtain U.S. Citizenship and our skating successes allowed us to qualify for the 2006 Olympic Games in Torino, Italy. We have participated in together in 4 World Championships and placed us among the top 9 in the world.
