Nekromantik Kurse began on a cold winter's night in December of 1998 when bassist Sanguis Morbithrimm Abhorath (aka Sanguis Morbis of ANATOLIAN WISDOM) and guitarist/vocalist Magnum Innominandum decided they'd had enough of the lack of quality Black Metal in their city and in the worldwide scene in general. It was out of pure disgust and contempt for what BM was becoming that Nekromantik Kurse was born. A band to crush the weakening foundations of pathetic Christian myth! In 1999, Magnum and Morbithrimm began writing their material coming up with a demos worth of songs. Later, in September of 1999, Maelstrom (formerly of Grudge, Scourge and now of Infernal Majesty) was recruited to flay skins for them. In March of 2000, Marbas Scheitan was added to play second guitar. The core line-up was then complete. Together, the band spent many an hour in a Burnaby rehearsal space honing their craft. In April 2001, NK began recording their demo, "The Horns of Armageddon" with the assistance of guitarist, Shannon Hillbom (formerly of Grudge) who not only recorded and engineered it, but also played guest lead guitar on several tracks, including "Raped By Demonic Wolflust". In July of 2001, it was decided that a vocalist was necessary and so Neutron Cannon (formerly of Blasphemy, Infernal Majesty, Domini Inferi) was recruited for vokills. In October/November of 2001, we were asked to play alongside Infernal Majesty and Severed Serenity at The Brickyard for a show on December 8th, 2001. Unfortunately, because Chris Bailey of IM had caught a nasty throat infection and Severed Serenity's bassist had quit, the entire gig was cancelled. Later on, internal conflicts and low band morale caused the band to implode. Maelstrom and Marbas both ended up joining Infernal Majesty, Magnum Innominandum is involved in his own projects and Morbithrimm became the vokillist for Anatolian Wisdom. Neutron Cannon is now in War Command....In 2006, it was decided that NK would make it's return to pick up where we'd left off. We're now currently a 3-piece and writing new material.
