I wrote this poem so I could tell you,
a bit about me and what I do;
My name is Ivan and I'm 44,
I look much younger I've been told before ;
I'm a single daddy with a son,
he's 16 now fun, fun, fun;
my son is my world, the light of my life,
I've raised him alone since divorcing my wife.
When he was a baby it was hard to date,
I had him to consider so I decided to wait.
Life as I knew it took on a new meaning,
now I changed diapers and did all the cleaning.
No longer was I getting laid,
or selling pot and getting paid.
Many things would have to be different
to set the example that I hoped to imprint.
My sense of humor is a little obscure,
a bit on the dry side, but funny for sure.
Most people find me incredibly clever,
Competent in my every endeavor.
I spoil myself, I wont tell a lie,
what ever I want I go out and buy.
I like gadgets and toys,
like most other boys;
I like wearing nice clothes,
Though I try not to pose.
Most think that im rich,
from the way that I stitch,
But truely I'm not
I just know how to shop.
I've been officially classified as being a metro,
but make no mistake, I am totally hetro.
So far so good? Shall I keep going?
Cuz I could go on without ever slowing!
A romantic at heart that thinks with his head,
the one at the top, not the lower instead.
I do not use the word "friend" loosely;
For this reason I am very choosey.
There are a handful of people whom I call my friends;
People with whom my trust has no ends.
Would you like to be friends with me?
