WELCOME one and all, thanks for passing through! I am DJ TERRANOVA, hip hop / drum and bass producer from the steel city - Sheffield, UK. I first got into making my own music at around age 10 when i got an instrumental of a Bobby Brown tune blasting out of one tape player and used another boombox to record me doing the vocal over the top! Thankfully no copies were made, but it was my first ever tinkering experience in 'the lab'. Growing up i listened to a variety of influences from different family members, from Bruce Springsteen to Michael Jackson, Elvis to Joan Armatrading.~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~HIP HOP hit me like a slap to the face in 1994 when aged 11 i got a copy of Ice T - Home Invasion from a mate at school and ran home to play as much of it as possible before mum got home from work! Looking back it was real hardcore but it was the overall vibe that i was drawn to - heavy beats, chopped samples and the general 'fuck the system' attitude. Then jungle music became a major influence, listening to tape packs like Roast, Pure X, One Nation, Dreamscape, Slammin' Vinyl etc. Drum and Bass evolved and so did my musical ambitions when i got a copy of a Playstation game called Music 2000 where i discovered my craving to produce - the tracks sounded crap but the basics of beat making were there, you could even sample about 8 seconds of any CD!~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~I completed a one year course in Music Production at Red Tape Studios which helped develop my knowledge of Logic Audio, my weapon of choice. Since then I've mainly worked on producing hip hop and playing DJ sets at Venues such as Corporation, The Forum, DQs, Bia Hoi, as well as at numerous parties round and about. My tracks have been heard in the Tuesday Club at the Sheffield Uni Students Union (Big up Andy H!) and are now unleashed upon Myspace! I'm currently working my ass off at the day job (no names!) but all my effort goes into the precious time i get for music, and currently i'm working with NEXUS and LOCO (we three collectively known as BAD INTELLIGENCE), KASTRO aka Slim Pickens from BOSTON, USA as well as other up and coming artists from around the globe and the UK.~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~With these spare minutes i get it's all about using music to lift heads and shake asses in equal measure... if music can make me focus and forget life's more testing times then it can do the same for everyone!!!!!!!!!!!PEACE, LOVE, MUSIC...........Fuck Bush!
