Ra, Egyptian God of the Sun, of strength... In, Inside, of us, of you... from our innerselves to yours... maybe...
this way both words were joint: Ra.In

The Sun that exists in us, sometimes hidden, that we try to awake through music, diving intoour innerselves and projecting in form of sound to all of you.

Ra.In also tries not to be restraingt only to the musical sphere. The moment of creation is the key-point to Ra.In, where everything is born, in a sound, on aprojected image, in an artist that creates his paintings listening to music or in a floating body above thestage floor.

Musically Ra.In tries to integrate what we can nowadays speak as the three main groups ofmusic instruments, acustic, electric and electronic, using freely our voices as the expontaneous and versatile instrument they are.

António Pires, in his personal blog,(http://raizeseantenas.blogspot.com/), wrote:

"Large collective of musicians and guests, Ra.in play «progressive chill-out» but thisdescription is an understatement for all that, very good, happens on stage. In the band there is electronic and own samples (samples recorded by the musicians) but alsomany acustic instruments - at times three classic guitars were being played on stage simultaneously, along withdjembees, didgeridoo, rain stick, "crótalos"... it's music that lives and travels through trance, progressive rock, world music ... It'ssometimes tribal, other times teluric, other times ambiental."

Maybe this words from Antonio Pires can describe a little the Ra.In world, but in the bottom

Ra.In tries to be a lot more than that.

Ra, Deus Egípcio do Sol, da força...In, Dentro, de nós, de ti...de dentro de nós para dentro de vós...talvez...
E assim se juntaram estas duas palavras; Ra.In

O Sol que em nós existe, às vezes oculto e que procuramos despertar através da musica, indo ao interior de nós e projectando em forma de som para todos vós.

Ra.In procura também que este projecto não se restrinja apenas à musica. O momento de criação é para Ra.In o ponto chave, onde tudo nasce, e isso tanto pode ser num som, numa imagem projectada, num pintor que esboça o seu quadro ao som da música ou num corpo flutuante sobre o palco.

Musicalmente Ra.In procura integrar, aquilo que talvez se possa hoje chamar os trê grandes grupos de instrumentos musicais, acústicos, eléctricos e electrónicos, para além do uso livre das vozes como instrumento musical versátil e espontâneo.

António Pires no seu Blog, (http://raizeseantenas.blogspot.com/), escreveu:

"Colectivo alargado de músicos e convidados, os Ra.In fazem «chill-out progressivo» mas a designação é redutora para tudo aquilo que, e de muito bom, se passa no palco. No grupo há electrónica e samples (samples de coisas tocadas pelos músicos do grupo) mas também muitos instrumentos acústicos - chegou a haver três guitarras clássicas ao mesmo tempo em palco, para além de djembés, didgeridoo, pau de chuva, crótalos...e uma música viva que navega pelo trance, o rock progressivo, alusões à world music... É por vezes tribal, outras vezes telúrico, outras vezes ambiental."

Talvez estas palavras de António Pires, possam situar um pouco o Mundo de Ra.In, mas no fundo Ra.In procura ser muito mais do que isso.
