About Me
Hello! Thanks for visiting. Some music tracks from a few years ago, along with a few voiceover reels. New stuff on the way! I'm in the process of finishing a new Brazilian/Jazz CD with Robert Kyle, Mike Shapiro, Trey Henry and Jamieson Trotter, among others. Should be out in October.
After laying out of the music scene for about 12 years, I've jumped back in with a beautiful weekly gig in Los Angeles! Stellar band - Robert Kyle on Reeds and percussion, Mitchell Long on Guitar, John Leftwich on acoustic bass.Still continuing with voiceover and commercial acting work, but it's great to get back to music!
JAZZ, BRAZILIAN MUSIC and SALSA are my great loves. I sing mostly in English, Portuguese and Spanish. US venues include: The Monterey Jazz Festival, Zellerbach Auditorium in Berkeley, Davies Symphony Hall in San Francisco (in concert with Frederica Von Stade, Thomas Hampson, Tyne Daily, Betty Comden - MTT conducting), and countless jazz clubs and festivals. I've also worked and toured extensively throughout Europe and Japan.
I've been delighted to work with a number of wonderful musicians over the years, both here and abroad, including: Bill Cunliffe, Mark Levine, Joshua Redman, Kleber Jorge, Michael Spiro, Michael Tilson Thomas, Harold Jones, Bruce Forman, Jacky Terrason, Peter Apfelbaum, Dave Carpenter, Robert Kyle, Ricardo Del Fra, Dado Moroni, Massimo Farao, Alfred Kramer, Mike Shapiro, Pietro Leveratto, Trey Henry, Jamieson Trotter, Mitchell Long, The Cross Hart Experience, Edwin Livingston, Larry Steen, Carlos Oliveira, John Leftwich, Rique Pantoja, Ricardo Silveira...
VOICEOVER/ACTING credits include hundreds of TV and radio commercials, games, movies, and print jobs.
DANCE. I've always danced. Engagements with the San Francisco Symphony were featured roles that involved both singing and dance sequences (one staged by Patricia Birch, one by me). I've toured Europe performing Brazilian and Afro Cuban dance, and have choreographed and performed in shows at the Meridian in Paris. I teach Brazilian Samba in Los Angeles, and at the California Brazil Camp in Northern California. (http://calbrazilcamp.com/)
My last name is Catalan. I was raised mostly in Northern California, with childhood years spent in Italy, Mexico and Spain. UC Berkely gave me a BA in Political Economy of Industrial Societies, after which I moved to Paris for 3 years to sing jazz.
I'm happy to be getting back to it. Let the games begin!
