About Me

BAND BIO:
Now, let's see...where to start...Oh YEAH!
Two Australian school friends achieve their life long dream of forming a band that screams hell-fire Aussie rock circa '77 and resonates with the harmonies of West Coast Sunshine-Pop all over raw 'n' rowdy, Rock n' Roll. They enter the Queensland Unearthed Competition sponsored by Australia's biggest radio station Triple J and beat over 1,500 bands to win the number one spot. American icons Blondie hand pick the band to open for 'em when they tour Australia and they're off on an amazing tour!
Soon thereafter, they get asked to play THE biggest music festival in Australia, Big Day Out and their single Butter is added into rotation at commercial radio.
This, of course, leads to Shifter being discovered by Boo Management - one of the most successful management companies in the USA. Naturally, the Aussie government supports the band, helps fly them to the US to tour from Los Angeles to New York and back again, and of course stopping on the way to take in SXSW where they blew away an unsuspecting music industry.
Soon after touring the USA, Shifter returned home and took the time out to perform as the house band for the hit late night television show "ROVE LIVE", making them the first unsigned band to do so. And also played at Australia's biggest music festvial yet again, the Big Day Out.As one would suspect, this leads to MySpace and Cingular Mobile selecting Shifter to be the first band promoted in the Mobile Music Studio partnership with Cingular Mobile and Myspace (the promotion includes Shifter among the top 50 independent bands on MySpace and ringtones of those bands marketed to Cingular customers. The entire whirlwind of activity ending in Las Vegas on April 5th with Shifter being flown in to play at the Cellular Telecommunications & Internet Association convention.
Now take a breath, as this is just the start. The bands new full length album "HEARTACHE TIME" is set for a release in the coming months!
