Influenced by the groundbreaking alternative and electronic rock scenes of the 90s, MDP are known as the self proclaimed "musical desensitization of an alienated generation". From the frozen wastelands of Anchorage, Alaska; the band is a sonic force of melodic dissonance that includes Mike Dorsett(Vocals/Synths); Jason Stevens(Guitars), and Kyle Neumeyer(Bass Guitar).
Originally conceived as a one piece electronic experiment by Dorsett in 2002, the band's blend of electronica and hard rock began to take shape when Stevens joined the project on guitars during the duo's junior year of high school. Joined by Neumeyer on bass a few years later, MDP released their first self produced demo, "Beauty EP", in 2005.
"With deep static vocals, airy synthesizers and almost mechanical drums, MDP have created a grungy industrial edge that will blast the windows out of any car stereo or turn a calm club setting into a chaotic mosh pit."

Recorded in the freezing basement of an abandoned house, MDPs "Beauty EP" struck a chord with the underground alternative scenes. Thanks in part to their unique take on the early 90s dance hit "What is Love", the band received regular airplay on internet radio and in nightclubs across the lower 48 and Europe. As MDPs popularity began to grow, so did their download count as the band reached the number one position on SoundClick.com 's listener charts.
Grabbing the attention of Los Angeles based Statue Records, "Beauty EP" was commercially released in 2006 and is also available for free stream or download at SoundClick.com/themdp . To date the band has received an accumulative half million downloads.
MDP is currently planning to record their first full length studio album in March/April to be released independently later this year. The band will be playing Alaskan venues after the album's completion with venues in the lower 48 planned soon after the album's release.
