First started playing the Bass at the age of twelve. After having played orchestral music, discovered Jazz in my twenties and have been playing in the UK and overseas ever since. Howzat I ask myself?In terms of mainstream Jazz, have played with Gary Potter, Alessio Menconi, Dominic Alldis, James Evans, James Pearson, Tim Kliphius,Mark Woods, Bucky Leo, Ian Carr, Lawrence Jones. Toured with The Bright Stars of Jazz (Isle of Man Jazz UK 2006), Blenkhorn All-Stars (SildaJazz Norway 2005), Gypsy guitarists Moreno (Esprit de Manouche UK 2005, IGGF UK 2006) and Matcho Winterstein (Esprit De Manouche 2004). I also had pleasure of being involved with recording and performing with Spring Heel Jack as part of the ‘Back In your Town’ free Jazz sessions in London, playing with Tony Bevan, Orphy Robinson, John Edwards and J Spaceman from Spiritualised. I’ve also delved into Indian influenced music touring internationally with the Nasha Collective and supporting Nitin Sawney and Chandru.
Have also played Bass for the Mediterranean Jazz Summer School alongside Simon Purcell, Lianne Carrol and Martin Speake.
Having begun on the Gypsy Jazz circuit I have also played in the UK with, Ensemble Zaiti, Mike Reinhardt, Andreas Oberg, as well as playing extensively with own trio ‘Rythme Futur’- pretentious Moi?
