I am here for Friends

About Me

Welcome to CRIMINALLY OVERLOOKED GUITARISTS! This is a page that anyone who loves guitarists, and music in general, can join. I will be blogging periodically about a "featured" guitarist, that you've probably heard of, but that I feel has been underrated by the media and/or music fans in general. My hope is to entice people to actually listen to the music of these guitarists, and make up their own minds about him or her, rather than just take the word of embittered music critics, or some of the more narrow-minded, casual music fans out there. Your suggestions and opinions are welcome. Please feel free to comment or email me with guitarists you'd like me to feature. I do ask, however, that no adverse negativity be posted on this page (i.e. "This guy sucks!") If you don't like a particular featured musician, tell me why in an intelligent and constructive way, or, better yet, ignore it and come back later to see if you like the next player better. Although I listen to all kinds of music, I will mostly feature on this page guitarists in the rock and pop genres. I may, on occasion, choose to feature a primarily acoustic guitar player, just to keep things interesting. Come on in, and invite your friends!
PLEASE NOTE: I am not a musician, so I can't engage in any technical discussions or talk too much about the equipment a guitarist uses. But I am an extremely avid music lover!
ANOTHER NOTE: Please don't take it personally if you request an add from my PERSONAL page and I don't accept it. This page here is open to everyone, and I will do my best to answer all emails, and I'm very happy to discuss music with you. But my personal page is set to "private," and it's just for friends and family. Thanks for understanding. ~COG

ROBBY KRIEGER

When one thinks of the Doors, one mostly thinks of its late frontman Jim Morrison. He was one of the most enigmatic, charasmatic, and publicly troubled personalities in the history of rock music. And...

Adam Jones. Wow! I think I've bitten off more than I can chew with this one. I didn't realize how much more difficult it would be to write about a guitarist that doesn't really solo (in the conventio...

Rush at the Hollywood Bowl 7.23.07 (Yes, they still matter, you idiot!)

"Where are you guys?" Alex Lifeson must have been wondering, after playing the familiar opening notes to "Limelight" to thunderous applause. He looked at his watch for a second, then Geddy Lee...
