MORE ABOUT ME
My name is Alexandria, or Alex for short. I live in the boring state of Illinois, and I’ve been stuck here all of my life here with my family, friends and pets Oreo, Gizmo, and Baby. You can find me at my place listening to my favorite band Rush, playing my Geddy Lee Fender Jazz bass, my drums occasionally, or talking to people here on MySpace. Also, I love to write songs and poetry in my spare time. For me it is fun playing chess or a game where you have to think about what you’re doing. When I am not doing those things other, you can see me talking about how much I love Richard Dawson, watching Match Game, Family Feud, and other classic game shows on GSN. (The Network for Games) I love making layouts, pictures, etc. for MySpace. If you ever need any help with HTML/your profile, don’t hesitate to ask. I think would make a good actress, comedian, composer, graphic designer, illustrator, or musician. I am a person of great enthusiasm, but I can be stubborn and opinionated. I have a very sarcastic attitude, which those of you who really know me, already know. I love making my friends and/or other people laugh. I can make anyone crack up at almost anytime. Although I have a great sense of humor, I have a very short temper. So a word of advice would be to not do anything to annoy me or piss me off. If you do something that makes me mad, I will not hesitate to tell you so.
My friends here mean a lot to me, and I love my friends very much, but even when I find myself laughing with them, having a good time, deep down inside I do not know if I am really having a good time or not, for I do not feel we share everything in common or we are so much alike. While we share little things in common… no one loves Rush like I do, I can’t talk to anyone about how cool I think Richard Dawson, Match Game, and Family Feud are. I am different from everyone at my school. Everyone is into rap and hip/hop, pop, newer and “emo” rock, and well, I am not. I do not find much talent in new bands like My Chemical Romance and bands like that. All of them sound the same, the sing about the same things, and they are just annoying. Rush is only a band with three guys, and they perform music wonderfully, but no one can see that. Neil Peart writes about things that matter in life, not about crap like, “My life sucks, I should go commit suicide because my last relationship sucked and now I‘m sad.” He writes things with greater meaning. Here is a very true quote about today‘s youth. “Conform or be cast out.” Everyone acts like everyone else at my school pretty much. To fit in or not be “cast out.” Everyone is concerned constantly about what they look like, who is going out with who, who broke up with who, who fought in school today, what the latest fashion is, etc. All of that crap annoys me, and I wish people will listen to the words of Rush and “…deviate from the norm.” and “…choose freewill.” Damn just don't be a follower, be a leader. Stand up for what the hell you believe in, and don't care what people think about you.
As you can probably tell, I am someone who couldn't care less what people think about me. My true friends know my personality, and who I am. I am a great person; funny, nice, and so on. Great person, NOT one to follow the path of everyone else just to 'fit in' etc. Like me for who I am, what I am, and what I do, or fuck off, because I am not changing myself for you, or anyone else in this crazy world. I like to be different. It brings out the creativity, and uniqueness of me. People call me a 'goth' and seriously, if you knew me at all, you would know that that's not true at all. Okay, so, I wear black - A LOT - but, what gives you the right to say I'm some depressed, loner, goth? It doesn't. I hate stereotyping really. I think it's a bunch of bullshit terms that mean nothing. I am no label, I am just myself and proud of it. I am a girl in Illinois who loves the band Rush and Richard Dawson. If you don‘t like it, you can really go fuck yourself because I didn‘t ask for your approval. Don‘t expect me to be nice to you either if all you can do when you see me is make fun of my loves for Rush and Richard. If you actually listened to Rush‘s music and listened to the music then you would know that Rush is truly an awesome band. Also, if you actually watched Richard and the shows and movies he‘s been in, then you would see he is really funny. And no, he is not a pervert.
On to the lovely subject of Rush again: So, I will never forget the first day I ever heard Rush, and found out what talented musicians they are. My mom, sister, and I were going to pick grandma up from her work. An Ozzy song was on the radio, and my mom and I got to talking about music. We went on and on, and then she mentioned a band called, "Rush" At the time, sadly, I did not know who Rush was. So, I asked her who they were, what they sang, etc. She told me how talented each of the members of the band were. She explained to me what skill Neil Peart had with drumming. She told me how his drumkit spun, while he played them. By that, I was amazed. Then, ironically, "Overture/Temples of Syrinx" played on the radio. She told me to listen to it closely. I listened to the instrumental part of the song, and thought it sounded great. Then, Geddy's voice came on. "And the meek shall inherit the Earth" It was quiet -- was it over? Hell no! All of a sudden it got loud again, and Mr. Lee started singing. I had no idea what was being said, but I loved it. That day then set off the obsession I have now, Rush. And now that I am a crazed Rush fan, I get this feeling everytime I listen to them, watch a DVD of one of their concerts, or even think of them. I get a rush of adrenaline, and the greatest feeling comes over me. I get so into the music, so into it all. Watching a concert on a DVD such as Rush in Rio, or R30, I can feel myself there. Kind of hard to explain, but if you are a Rush fan like me, I guess you'll know the feeling I'm talking about.

Music:

RUSH

Music is a big part of my life, and I wouldn't be who I am without it. Music can be so inspiring and uplifting. It can make you have a whole new outlook on things. Inspire you to do better things in life, to have goals. Music has done all of those things for me and more. Neil Peart said in one of his speeches, in the 1990s, "Without music, life would be a mistake," and I agree with ever word of that. ♥

RUSH

The following bands and singers I listen to a lot, and who have inspired me, and who I have gained a lot of respect for. - Rush, Led Zeppelin, Pink Floyd, The Who, The Yardbrids, Dream Theater, Judas Priest, Motley Crue, Rammstein, Thousand Yard Stare, Velvet Revolver, Analog Missionary, Metallica, Evanescence, Ozzy Osbourne, Black Sabbath, Journey, Johnny Cash, Richard Dawson singing "Apples and Oranges." and actually, some techno.

I am not a big reader, but I did read A Child Called It by Dave Pelzer and I loved it. It is really sad, but it is a great book that I think everyone should take the time to read. Also a great book is Ghost Rider by Neil Peart, which is about his family losses and more. And, I also just finished reading the book Katie.com - it's great!

Heroes:

Richard Dawson because he's amazing. My awesome friend, Mark Winkler. You're amazing, Mark, and you've given me all the more inspiration to pick up that Geddy Lee bass and make something of it. Thank you! Geddy Lee who is my favorite bassist and vocalist, from my favorite band Rush. Alex Lifeson who is my favorite guitarist. (Rush) Neil Peart who is the best drummer and who is my favorite song-writer. (Rush)

Other people include true friends and family because they are always there when I need them. Some teachers. Martin Luther King Jr. and Abraham Lincoln because they helped make a positive difference in the world. John Kramer because he is intelligent and has a good view on life.
