German siblings Julia and Roland try to make good pop music since they write songs together.
They started as a duo in late 90ies, working with CAN-producer Ren Tinner at the Inner Space Studio.
Being almost unknown in their own country, Riviera released 5 albums, a remix cd and a 12" record on philter inc., a japanese label and one album on chilimusic, South Korea.
To listen to all of their albums, just click here to go to their page at last.fm . You can sneak into all tracks of their 6 CDs.
Riviera's songs had been remixed by artists such as Fantastic Plastic Machine, Konichi Yasuharu (Pizzicato 5), Shuya Okino and Hajime Yoshizawa (Kyoto Jazz Massive) or Louis Oberlander (Jeremy Days, Mungo Park Ave, Palomino).
Julia's husband, Probyn Gregory (Brian Wilson band, Eels, Wondermints) played brass on various Riviera tracks.
Joerg Lengersdorf, a good friend of Julia and Roland, played all of the strings on their songs.
Julia lives most of the year in Los Angeles whilst Roland stayed in Germany. With the help of friends, lufthansa, pro tools, logic audio and a fast internet connection they are still able to work together.
On their very rare live performances in Japan and the US they had been accompanied by such great musicians as Nelson Bragg (Brian Wilson), Louis Oberlander (Jeremy Days) or Toshiaki Goto (Kahimi Karie, Cornelius).
