Just one of the many lines and metaphors that flow freely from the mind and spirit of Bella. Born Tramaine Stallworth and raised in San Diego, Bella has strived continuously to be herself while being different. She is often labeled as a young Lauryn Hill or female Common. Not usually akin to comparisons, she accepts those gladly. With her great influence being Bob Dylan, her rhymes usually mirror folk structure. Other influences are: Immortal Technique, Jason Mraz, Jon B., Dead Prez, John Mayer, Talib Kweili, Maroon 5, Paul Wright, Robin Thicke, Donnie Hathaway, Woody Guthrie, Nas, and Tupac just to name a few. With all of these great musical influences nothing has influenced her more than her love and fear of God. She explains: “I truly believe that only God is Love and humility is the essence of Love. If I am going to be an artist out there in the public eye, humility is the key. Once people see your humbleness and see your sincere love for what you are doing, no one can stop you.†She continues, “Being truly candid is also important. Nobody likes a faker. I’m not a thug; I’m not going to pretend to be one. I’m going to be me. Just because someone is from the ghetto or the burbs, it does not necessarily mean they will reflect the attitudes of their environment; not entirely at least.†Bella grew up in a diverse neighborhood, a project-housing complex called: Meadowbrook Apartments. Some simply call it the Brook. The street gang known as PIRU Bloods reigned supreme. Bella has never forgotten her roots. She elaborates: “ My family was seriously church going, God fearing, but we lived in a neighborhood that desperately needed a metaphysical change. We were poor in pockets but rich in spirit. I have never and will never forget my upbringing.†Bella now splits her time between the North and South sides of Chicago and San Diego.Bella is open to SERIOUS collaborations and inquiries only.
