Born in the Namur area, Belgium in a family of musicians, I had always been attracted by music and Hard Rock more precisely. My father and my uncle playing together in a Heavy Metal band named Sapphire for more than 30 years, I was drowned in this style of music since my tender childhood. Since my first days, the sounds which passed in my ears were those of bands like Iron Maiden, Europe, Scorpions, Deep Purple, Rainbow, Dio, Pretty Maids,… and I had quickly been attracted by the drums and the “spectacle†which represents a drummer behind a large drumkit on a stage. Besides I used the majority of my colouring pencils while striking the chairs of my house.
The years passed and I was always bathed in the music while going to my father’s band rehearsals and by looking some clips at the TV. At the age of 15, my parents allowed me to buy my first kit in spite of the fact that I did not have really the sense of rhythm! With our astonishment, I understood quickly how to make some noise with my drums and I started to follow courses in a school intended for rock named the “Rock's Coolâ€. At the same time, my little brother, Julien, more impassioned for the keyboard, decided to start to play some music with me. To perpetuate the family tradition, my cousin, François bought a bass guitar and with some friends, we started to try to found a band. We agreed all to play Heavy/Power Metal but the task was announced heavy considering that we were all beginners and that none us could really play! Our parents thus helped us to put “the fingers in the good cases†and we continued to follow our courses each one on our side.
I continued to train and the band which we had founded took its form gradually. This band became “Ethernityâ€, in which I always play nowadays. During the months and years, we started to compose some better and better songs and we approached the level that it was necessary to be able to play the music that we wanted. I took 3 years of drum lessons and then I continued my training by myself while listening, watching and reproducing. In order to better be able to compose, I took 3 years of guitar courses. The band began to play live a few times.
After some lineup changes and having found somebody to sing, Ethernity passed on a higher level and the band than started to become and sound as what it is today. In 2005, I entered for the 1st time in a studio for the recording of our first demo cd : “All Over The Nationsâ€. So, we started to play live a little bit more. In 2006, we recorded our 1st album : “The Journey†which was self-released by the end of the same year.
Nowadays, I continue to progress and Ethernity, with now a lineup of steel, is ready to kick some small asses and even some largest ones if it is necessary! We are now composing for our future 2nd album for which we will probably return to the studio at the end of 2007!
