Mark Cross was born in London, England on a Monday morning on August 2, father English and his mother German, grew up in a musical environment and started bashing the tubs when he was 9 years old.Over the past 20 years he has been working with various bands and artists from all over the world that has given him great reputation in the international music industry as a drummer.To name a few bands in his roster- HELLOWEEN, METALIUM, IAN GILLAN, KINGDOM COME and his main band FIREWIND, who released their 4th CD "Allegiance" (Century Media) in 2006 worldwide, two video clips of their two CD single tracks "Falling to pieces" and "Breaking the silence" in 2007.
Firewind entered the Greek single charts with "Falling to pieces" and "Breaking the silence" at No:11 and kept their position in the top selling 30’s for many weeks.In October 2006 FIREWIND kicked off their world tour in Taiwan, followed by nearly 100 shows headlining and opening for "Dragonforce", "Angra", "Sonata Arctica", "Edguy" and "Kamelot" across Europe, Africa, the USA, Canada and Japan.He also features on American metal band WINTERS BANE’s last CD "Redivivus" (Metal Heaven Records) and British rockers SARACEN’s - "Vox in Excelso" (Escape Records) who celebrate their new release after 20 years and gained great reviews from the international press. Both Cd’s were released in June and July 2006.Firewind played their last show of their "Allegiance World Tour" in Copenhagen, DK on November 10, 2007 at the Prog Power Scandinavia Festival. At the same period the band recorded their new album "THE PREMONITION" at the Fredman Studio in Sweden which will be released in March 2008.Furhermore Firewind held a very special event where the band presented their new album live from track one to the last and a "Best of" set live and filmed the entire show for an in concert DVD in Thessaloniki - Greece at the PRINCIPAL THEATER.Mark and the band are preparing ground for the upcoming inferno and just announced the first leg of the European Tour which will start in April!!
