'no way is there nine of us or are we high enough'

About Me

Nine High, consisting of mc’s Scotty Hinds, Fraksha and Felony alongside S.A on the decks have spent the last couple of years building up to a stage where they are ready to unleash a classic album on the ears of music lovers anywhere and everywhere. This time has been spent consistently smashing shows up and down the UK playing alongside such heavyweights as Klashnekoff, Kano, Skinnyman, Blak Twang as well as playing shows in places as far as Australia, New Zealand and the Czech Republic (hiphopkemp) gathering new fans at each and every opportunity. With what they see as quite a dull and lifeless hip hop scene in the UK, Nine High with their charismatic and polished sound are in a prime position to capitalise on the general apathy felt towards much of the music being released over the past few years. With a trio of mc’s each with a different style, take and background to the music they are making they are able to appeal to fans across the board. Thugs, backpackers etc and everyone in-between have been impressed with their intelligent lyrics and big sounding beats and the differences between the three mc’s only accentuates their sound and makes them stand head and shoulders above most of the bog standard hip hop being released at the moment.Within the live environment Nine High are one of the best, no question. The energy they bring on stage combined with the natural way they feed each off of each other has seen them impress crowds each time they step to the mic. While in Australia, Nine High played over 40 shows to enthusiastic crowds everywhere most notably supporting Bliss n Eso on the Victorian leg of their ‘Get Loose’ tour. Their expertise in the live arena comes from experience purely and simply. Consistently playing shows and hosting events all across the UK has given them the edge needed to impress all types of crowds, whether that be straight up underground hip hop heads to students just looking for a good time to boojy RnB fans, Nine High bring a sound to suit all. These live shows have seen them cement a fanbase both in the UK and Australia which has seen them sell over 3000 copies of their first two mix-tapes hand to hand. Their most recent mix-tape ‘Take Two’ was a great step forward, showcasing many facets of the group and capturing the live vibe that the group have become known for wherever they play. These mix-tapes have since gone on to be downloaded at a rate in the tens of thousands! They have also released a collaborative mix-tape called ‘Take 2.5 - Mad dogs and Englishmen’ with some of their favourite Australian artists such as Autism, Phrase, Reason, Patto, Illy, Ciecmate, Newsense, Mantra and M-Phazes which was put together as a free promo as a thank you to all the Australian fans who have shown the group support in their time in the country.Although having not released an album as of yet, Nine High have still seen their music being played on radio shows across the UK such as Rishi Rish Project on Kiss100FM, DJ Cro’s Main Ingredient, HHB Radio, Trilogy and Desire FM (where they also hosted their own Sunday afternoon show) in the UK, while in Australia they have featured as guests on stations including Kiss FM, Syn FM, PBS and Triple R and also on television on Heavyweight TV.Nine High are in the process of putting the finishing touches to their debut album which is set to raise the levels of expectations for all UK hip hop artists. Featuring production from world-class producers such as M-Phazes (Superstition, Royce 5’’9), Ghost Town (Dubbledge, Skrein), Jase (Pegz, Phrase) and Driff (Mikey T, Lumes), this really is a classic sounding album of banging production and high class lyricism. You won’t find any fake bullshit and posturing here. What you will find though is honest lyrics and high quality beats that sound like they belong to the here and now and not 15 years ago.If you’re sick of whiney rappers, sick of rappers with no charisma and soul, sick of rappers struggling to fit too many syllables in a bar and want something new and fresh sounding then its all about the hizzle! Not wanting to be labelled as part of any particular ‘hip hop scene’ as such, Nine High are part of the ‘music scene’! If you’re a fan of music, you’ll be a fan of Nine High.‘Don’t mistake confidence for arrogance, we’re just very confident that what we do is better than what most other people can do’www.myspace.com/ninehigh [email protected]
