About Me

Many of the friends I’ve made on Myspace have been kind enough to share a little about themselves, so I thought I might too. Here goes, read on if you will (or if you are bored).
I’m a sugar-powered gangsta socialite who has a love for “keeping the scene alive.” Born and bred in the city of Bendigo, as a child I was brainwashed with bad taste including hits like ‘Rhinestone Cowboy’ and ‘Georgie Girl’. This left a semi-permanent effect when I grew to adore artists like ‘Bros’ and ‘Indecent Obsession’. Finally coming to my senses, I started listening to ‘Rage Against The Machine’. As Zack De La Rocha belted out, “Know Your Enemy.” I certainly did and it was Glen Campbell!
Though I’d studied dance from the age of nine, my parents opposed to me studying “Mickey Mouse” subjects like dance for my VCE (Victorian Certificate of Education). So I focussed on accountancy and economics. In my late teens I moved to the brighter lights of Melbourne to begin a ‘Bachelor of Economics’ at La Trobe University. Bored to death after one semester, I dropped-out and auditioned for a ‘Bachelor of Arts (Dance)’ at Deakin University. I was successful and went on to also to complete Honours in which I achieved ‘First Class’. For Honours I focused on the hybrid art form, ‘moving picture dance’. As part of my exegesis I created a short film, ‘Multidimensional Dance: Perception of Motion Captured’, which encompassed dance, video, and animation. Through my research, I learned of Merce Cunningham, renowned American choreographer, who collaborated with John Cage, music composer. Cage began experimenting with electronic music in the 1930’s and to me he is the true pioneer of electronic music.
During my initial time in Melbourne I was exposed to various club venues: Carousel (eep!), the HiFi Bar, and the Red Room. It was at ‘Teriyaki Anarki Saki’ that I developed a love for electronic music, hence, out bounded the ‘Techno Bunny’ from within. Formerly known around the traps as ‘Ninja Indra’ or ’Leia’ due to a ‘Star Wars’-like hairstyle. It was here that the image chameleon antics began.
I’ve gone through heaps of music endeavours. Bedroom DJing which ended after one crate of vinyl, twiddling round on ‘Reason’ from which I produced one lame-ass electro track, and a short-lived radio stint on Sub FM (La Trobe Uni’s Radio station) with ‘Trash Bag Tuesdays’. In 2006, I was bequeathed with the coveted ‘Trash Bag of the Week’ in Zebra in Inpress Magazine. It was this that solidified my realisation that some people are just meant to be punters. In the words of Mark, one of my dearest friends:
Techno heartbeat fills the veins
Music lights the dark brown flames
Behind the eyes, beneath the skin
The demon is awake within
The rhythm flows in acid streams
Of strobing lights and laser beams
Fusing bone and bass within
Spill demon sweat through human skin
A wicked grin and quickened pace
From demon girl with angel face
She lets the music take control
It's nights like these that make her whole.

"My favorite music is the music I haven't yet heard. I don't hear the music I write: I write in order to hear the music I haven't yet heard."
